Galo Line Array shows its strengths
As part of the "Burgentour", In Extremo was fascinating the audience in the ambience of the Schlosshof in Weißenfels.
"In these beautiful and historic scenes, we just feel really good on stage and we are already looking forward to be able to celebrate there with all the fans again in summery temperatures," says singer Michael Robert Rhein.
For this venue the Galo series came into play. A total of 11 line array elements Galo G10 per side and 6 positions with 2 GB 218 provided sufficient power reserves and enough low-end for a variety of sound applications during the festival week. The setup was powered by 12x DA 230 digital amplifiers. As nearfill 8x QL 906 were used.
For monitoring, 12x MCX 12 as well as two sidefills consisting of 3x QLB 215, 2x QF 5045 V2 and further 4x DA 230 as well as 3x DA 428 were used.

High Power Subwoofer GB 218
Passive high power subwoofer equipped with two newly 18" long excursion neodymium speakers. The direct radiating design assures a extraordinary powerful and precise bass response at highest SPL down to the frequency limit of 25 Hz. Its bassreflex design has been optimized to minimize the flow noise. Due to the very low frequency tuning, the sound impression is voluminous but precise and responsive. The GB 218 is characterized by compact enclosure dimensions.
Line Source Element QL 1215 120° x 15° (Downfill)
The 2-way line source unit QL 1215 is equipped with two 1“ drivers coupled to a waveformer and two 8“ neodymium speakers combined with outstanding AQF acoustic filters. This filters, compounds of reticulated aminoplastic foams, dampen standing waves inside the speaker system and cancel parasetical side-lobars within the working direction, creating a wide while smooth horizontal dispersion and a perfect vertical scalability.
QLB 215
The high power, universal bass system QLB 215 with exceptional sound quality comes with optimized transport dimensions for truck and transporter. Inside, two newly developed 15“ long excursion speakers work in a hybrid arrangement ensuring small dimensions remaining low cutoff frequency and minimizes airflow noise especially at low frequencies. The QLB 215 can be used together with either Line Array systems or other top units. Using suitable amplifiers (i.e. DA 230) the customer can construct directional bass arrays with more units. Two Speakon sockets on the back side and one socket in the front grid ensure easy cabling for all chosen using modes. An option for wheel mounting is also available on the back side.

Hybrid Source Element QF 5045 V2
The single hybrid array element QF 5045 V2 (newly developed high frequency unit) with a dispersion of 50° horizontal and 45° vertical is an absolute novelty in the combination of line source and point source technologies. The QF 5045 V2 contains a high frequency unit with 4 x 1“ HF drivers which are coherently working on a waveguide guaranteeing a precise dispersion and seamless transition of the high frequencies between the array elements. The mid range system is a direct radiating 12“ neodymium speaker. In this system the requirements for compact dimensions, high SPL and defined dispersion of a line array are combined in a symbiosis. The tonal tuning enables the operation of the 2-way system as full-range system or as mid/high system within a powerful PA combination. The QF 5045 V2 is optimized for clustering of maximum three units both in groundstacking and flying mode. Furthermore, thanks to the integrated flange, the operation on a high stand is possible.
